2021 Red Mountain Syrah

Argonne Cellars is privileged to procure these Syrah grapes from the Red Heaven Vineyard on Red Mountain; an exclusive 15 acres of Syrah distributed across nine blocks. The Phelps Clone grapes, originating from the renowned Joseph Phelps Vineyard in Napa, were specifically chosen for their suitability to the distinctive conditions of the esteemed Red Mountain AVA.

Consistent with our other red varietals, this wine was produced using gentle processing, whole berry fermentation, and minimal sulfites added during fermentation. The wine was permitted to complete its fermentation in situ before pressing. We employed very gentle pressing techniques, and the barreling was conducted in Argonne Oak barrels.

We are very satisfied with the outcome of this wine and believe it warrants comparison with its acclaimed 2020 predecessor, making it ideal for a mini vertical tasting.
